We've released new versions for the Author Contact module for both Drupal 5 and Drupal 6.

The new D5 version is a minor update, removing the fieldset around the contact form and updating the way theming works.

The D6 version is now working properly and has been fully tested on our test servers.

Thanks go out to those users that gave us useful feedback and patches.

What is Author Contact?

As members of the Drupal community we like to give back where we can. Part of this commitment means sharing some of the modules that we create so that other developers can use them if they have a similar need.

Author Contact is a small Drupal module that places a contact form on the bottom of selected pages so that a user may fill the form out to contact the author of that page. This is very useful for sites with content created by many different people, like multi-user blogs, auction sites or real estate listing sites. We originally developed the module for HouseBroker.com.au.

Hi James, I have attempted to extend your Author Contact module so that the message can have an attachment. It does work but the attachment does not do a multi-part split and ends as a large string of bytes after the users message. I was wondering if I could email my version to you so you might let me know where I have gone wrong-I am no php developer. If you like it, maybe consider it as an update to your module. Cheers, David Murphy

Thanks David - you can send it to me and I'll have a look.

You should also add it to the issue queue on the Drupal project page: http://drupal.org/project/issues/authorcontact?categories=All

Cheers, James
